The objective of skill development programme among youth, farmers and emerging entrepreneurs is to empower them in food processing sector and to motivate them to become a successful entrepreneur. In last four years with the involvement of recognized experts of IIFPT more than nine thousand five hundred farmers and entrepreneurs were benefitted through various training programs including outreach activities, consultancy services, PMKVY and other schemes. IIFPT is offering various programmes from beginners training to experts training in different areas like cereal processing, value addition of fruits and vegetables, bakery and confectionery, spice processing and extrusion etc. IIFPT is also a Vocational Training Provider for conducting skill development course on Baking Technician under PMKVY. Through this skill development initiative, IIFPT has created more than 70 successful entrepreneurs. IIFPT, Thanjavur with its liaison offices at Guwahati and Bathinda, is playing an important role in supporting farmers and entrepreneurs in the food processing sector.
